Neuro Lab

At Aakash Hospital we use a latest technology called EEG which is a service that detects electrical activity in the brain. This procedure is handled by our experienced medical physicians to diagnose brain disorders such as Epilepsy, Seizure disorder, Brain tumour, Head injury, Brain dysfunction, Inflammation of the brain, Stroke, Sleeping disorders and Dementia. Our experts ensure that the patient is taken full care at the hospital and the procedure is safe and painless.

The ELECTRO MYOGRAPHY measures muscle response or electrical activity in response to a nerve’s stimulation of the muscle. The test is used to detect neuromuscular abnormalities. During the test, one or more small needles inserted through the skin into the muscle.

A NERVE CONDUCTION STUDY is a measurement of the speed of conduction of an electrical impulse through a nerve. NCS can determine nerve damage and destruction. During the test, the nerve is stimulated, usually with surface electrode patched attaches to the skin two electrodes are places on the skin over the nerve. One electrode stimulates and the other electrodes record it. The resulting electrical activity is recorded by another electrode. This is repeated for each nerve being tested.

A VISUAL EVOKED POTENTIAL is an evoked potential caused by a visual stimulus, such as an alternating checkerboard pattern on a computer screen. Responses are recorded from electrodes that are placed on the back of your head and are observed as a reading on an electroencephalogram (EEG).

A REPETITIVE NERVE STIMULATION is a variant of the nerve conduction study where electrical stimulation is delivered to a motor nerve repeatedly several times per second. By observing the change in the muscle electrical response (SNAP) after several stimulations, a physician can assess for the presence of a neuromuscular junction disease, and differentiate between presynaptic and postsynaptic conditions.
